The Unicus Mathematics Olympiad (UMO) is an international competitive exam conducted for students of Class 4. The exam is designed to challenge students' growing mathematical abilities and logical thinking. At this level, students have already developed a strong foundation in core mathematical concepts and are also beginning to understand upgraded concepts.
The UMO exam helps students enhance their cognitive skills while developing an interest in mathematics beyond the classroom. It introduces students to complex mathematical problems that ask for logical reasoning and strategic thinking which helps them to prepare for more advanced mathematical studies in this competitive world.
The UMO is conducted online, allowing students to participate from the comfort of their homes. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions covering various Class 4 mathematics curriculum topics. The syllabus of class 4 covers the previous 2 classes passed by the student.
The exam duration is 60 minutes. Students will also get three mock tests (including a free trial) to practice before the final exam. Each mock test can be taken up to three times. The exam is divided into two sections:
Classic Section includes questions related to practical applications of Mathematics.
Scholar Section includes questions on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)
The goal of the UMO Class 4 syllabus is to challenge and develop young students' mathematics abilities. It covers several topics that students are already familiar with, adding new complex concepts also. The purpose of the designed questions is to test their understanding, logical reasoning, and application of these concepts in real-world situations.

When we look for preparation for exams like UMO, requires a strategic approach that fits with the natural learning pattern of Class 4 students. At this stage, students are observant, eager to learn, and able to pick up new concepts through exploration and practice. This is the ideal moment to develop cognitive skills in students that help them to find solution to complex problems.
Students can effectively prepare for the UMO by building on what they have already learnt in class and being encouraged to apply these concepts in different ways further UMO provides various preparation materials to help students get ready for the exam, including sample papers, practice questions, and study guides. These resources are designed to give students a thorough understanding of the exam pattern and the types of questions they can expect. By regular practice of sample papers, previous years' question papers and practising questions, students can easily improve their mathematical concepts.
