The Unicus Mathematics Olympiad (UMO) is an international competitive exam conducted for students of Class 5. This is an exciting opportunity for students to test their mathematics skills. At this level, class 5 students are expanding their understanding of regular topics to a complex level. The UMO challenges them with problems that go beyond regular classroom exercises and learning.
The exam is specially designed to push students out of their comfort zone to start thinking differently and apply their knowledge in different ways. This will help them build a stronger foundation for future learning and competitions by sharpening their skills and preparing for future competitive examinations.
The UMO is conducted online, allowing students to participate from the comfort of their homes. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions covering various Class 5 mathematics curriculum topics. The syllabus of class 5 covers the previous 2 classes passed by the student.
The exam duration is 60 minutes. Students will also get three mock tests (including a free trial) to practice before the final exam. Each mock test can be taken up to three times. The exam is divided into two sections:
Classic Section includes questions related to practical applications of Mathematics.
Scholar Section includes questions on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)
The UMO Class 5 syllabus is structured to address a broad range of topics that test students' developing mathematical abilities. It includes common concepts along with new topics that encourage logical thinking and problem-solving skills in students. The given syllabus pushes them to apply their knowledge creatively and fall in love with maths.

Class 5 students require a strategic study method with regular practice for the UMO exam. Students are at the age where they develop a deeper understanding of fundamental algebraic concepts such as fractions and decimals. They also become curious to know the logic behind the given concepts which is an ideal moment to concentrate and enhance their problem-solving ability. This will help them to solve complete questions swiftly.
Students who want to properly prepare should begin by reviewing the course material and start studying accordingly up to more difficult assignments. UMO provides various preparation materials to help students get ready for the exam, including sample papers, practice questions, and study guides. These resources are designed to give students a thorough understanding of the exam pattern and the types of questions they can expect. By regular practice of sample papers, previous years' question papers and practising questions, students can easily improve their mathematical concepts and overcome the stress of an exam by improving their time management skills.
