The Unicus Mathematics Olympiad (UMO) is an international competitive exam conducted for Class 9 students. This exam is designed to evaluate and improve students' mathematical skills. It gives a great opportunity for students to demonstrate their problem-solving abilities and expand their understanding of mathematical concepts. Through the promotion of creativity, analytical reasoning and logical thinking, the UMO gives students a new outlook on mathematics.
For class 9 students, the exam challenges them with complex questions that go beyond their regular school curriculum and require a solid understanding of several concepts. This Olympiad prepares students for more advanced competitions in the future. Taking part in UMO can be a big step for students towards strong academic performance, establishing confidence in solving challenging mathematical problems and building a solid mathematical foundation.
The UMO is conducted online, allowing students to participate from the comfort of their homes. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions covering various Class 9 mathematics curriculum topics. The syllabus of class 9 covers the previous 2 classes passed by the student.
The exam duration is 60 minutes. Students will also get three mock tests (including a free trial) to practice before the final exam. Each mock test can be taken up to three times. The exam is divided into two sections:
Classic Section includes questions related to practical applications of Mathematics.
Scholar Section includes questions on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)
The UMO syllabus for Class 9 goes beyond basic understanding and encourages students to apply mathematical principles creatively. This format broadens their understanding of mathematics and prepares them for more advanced competitions in the future. The syllabus is specially designed to test students’ ability to apply these concepts in problem-solving scenarios.
